While on Grounds, Tamira's devotion to community involvement flourished. She was a student manager at Newcomb Hall, a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity, a volunteer with Madison House Volunteer Program, Orientation Leader Program, and 4th Year Trustees. She was also inducted into the IMP society. Following graduation, Tamira moved to Northern Virginia and began her professional career at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Currently, Tamira manages all courtroom operations for the Civil Division.
In 2015, Tamira earned a JD from George Mason School of Law. After graduating, Tamira became a member of the Bar of the State of Maryland and took courses to become a certified mediator. Tamira has a passion for the practice of conflict resolution and continues to work to strengthen her legal and mediation skills.
Tamira continues her tradition of service both to the University and in the community. At present, she serves on numerous committees and boards, including the UVaClub of Washington, D.C., the Young Alumni Council, and the Black Alumni Advisory Group.
